Alisa Thompson

Alisa Thompson is a native of Salt Lake City, Utah. She considers herself a life-long learner. She received her associate degree in Nursing from Weber State University (Ogden, Utah) in 1990. She went on to complete her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Utah (Salt Lake City) in 1994. During her training at the University of Utah, she completed a 120-hour internship in the Department of Dermatology. In 2007 she received her Master's degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Westminster College (Salt Lake City). She is nationally certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

During her 20-year career as a registered nurse, she enjoyed working in the Newborn ICU, in the Emergency Department and with the Life-Flight team, all at Primary Children's Medical Center (Salt Lake City).

Upon completing her Family Nurse Practitioner degree in 2007, she left Primary Children's Medical Center to work as a Nurse Practitioner in the Dermatology Department at the Intermountain Healthcare Clinic (Sandy, Utah). Then in April 2010, she joined South Valley Dermatology in the practice of dermatology.

In her free time, Alisa enjoys traveling and all outdoor activities including skate-skiing, hiking and cycling. She is an avid cyclist (road and mountain). She formally competed for the Intermountain Cup (A Regional Mountain Bike Racing Series). She lives in South Jordan, Utah and is the proud mother of two daughters.
